All through these writings Columbus over and again proclaims of his activities as prohibitively for the kindness of his lord and sovereign. For instance, in the section The individuals of the new world welcome Columbus, Columbus states, ...when Your Highnesses so order, they [the seven slaves] would all be able to be taken away to Castile...since with fifty men they would be completely kept in coercion and compelled to whatever might be wished. Another model is in the entry Columbus depicts the individuals of the New World, wherein Columbus declares, Our Lord willing, at the hour of my takeoff I will bring back six of them [Native Americans] to Your Highnesses, that they may figure out how to talk. The simulation takes a look at several different situations, outside market factors and governmental influence. In the business of telephone customer service, we view our supply and demand in terms of how well we are meeting the demand of calls coming in and how well we supply the desir e of our customers to have their issues resolved in a timely manner. During periods of high demand, such as the holiday season, we staff more employees to work the phones. Similar to the situation in scenario 2, we have to be certain that the number of representatives on the phone is still profitable by the business, so while there may be a small wait time for a customer to speak with an agent, it is more profitable for the customer to have a five minute wait than to put twenty more people on the phone to meet that increased business need. Nowadays People consume film differently as compared to the previous decade. The advancement of the digital technology and availability of high-speed internet has played a prominent role in the way people consume film. People can watch a movie anywhere in the world provided there is access to the internet connectivity. We will write a custom essay sample on Changes in Cinema Perception or any similar topic only for you Order Now Moreover, the development of technology in mobile devices such as mobile phones, tablets, iPods, and laptops has enabled persons to access the internet anywhere they are, and thus they can use mobile applications, for instance, YouTube to view movies at anyplace for example in a car while they are traveling (Aveyard, 2016). However, film production in theatres is still significant to create awareness among its consumers, provide reliability and as a way of making income. Most people prefer watching movies on their technological devices rather than going to a cinema because it is cheaper and easily accessible. The feature film is a movie that runs for more than 40 minutes and considered the sole of a show. The feature film has been on the market for over a hundred years and sold as a unique audiovisual. And associated with theatre that is, it is watched in cinemas, however, due to the advancement in technology watching the film takes place outside the theatre. As such no distinction is seen while compared to the other audiovisual films. Distributors and online content providers put an effort in ensuring that these films are categorized differently for example in show max and iTunes. Additionally, the television series run for more than ten hours and can be entirely viewed for some days in episodes. An episode is part of a series whereby the series is watched for some minutes and then stopped and continued another day. A television series may contain up to twelve episodes or even more. The introduction of the video cassette recorder (VCR) in 1980 in the market, motivated watching of films outside theatres. The television broadcast showed movies before 1980. However, the advertisement of the VCR surrounded household as the leading practice for watching movies. The VCR was cheap and suitable with the existing technology. VCR provided a way of watching a film without timing and avoiding the annoying television advertisements. However, the adaptation of VCR in homes resulted in affecting the education of the family members. The scholar could watch a movie at any time and forsake analyzing academic materials. Additionally, the feature film set is in a tremendous location and offers quality visualization of the characters as compared to a television movie which is of low quality and uses sound to capture the viewer attention. Practice theory conducted by Jones (2013) tried to explain the perception of viewers at cinemas and home. Jones realized that watching a movie at home with the family members provided a sense of relaxation and gratification to the children and the couples. Therefore, films viewing help to maintain and develop a close bond between individuals and the need for an individual to dedicate time to the family agreement. Consequently, there is a need to address non-theatre movies and its audience due to its social-cultural impact. Reference Aveyard, K. (2016). Tiberius Essay Example For Students
Tiberius Essay Tiberius was born Tiberius Claudius Nero Caesar in Rome on November 16, 42BC. Four years later his mother divorced his father and married the triumvir Octavian, later Emperor Augustus, who had Tiberius carefully educated. In 20BC Tiberius commanded an expedition to Armenia, and he subsequently helped subdue the Rhaetians and fought against the Pannonians (12-9BC). In 11BC Tiberius, at his stepfathers command, dissolved his happy marriage to Vipsania Agrippina (died AD20), daughter of the Roman general Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa, and married Augustuss daughter Julia, who was Agrippas widow. In 6 BC he retired to the island of Rhodes, where he devoted himself to study for seven years. We will write a custom essay on Tiberius specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now When Tiberius returned to Rome in AD 2, Julia had been banished for adultery, and within two years the deaths of both the young grandsons of Augustus, Lucius (died AD 2) and Gaius (died AD 4), paved the way for the adoption of Tiberius as heir to the imperial dignity. He was formally adopted by Augustus in AD 4. He then went into active service in northern Germany against the Marcomanni. Tiberius also succeeded in quelling formidable insurrections in Pannonia and Dalmatia, and finally in securing the frontier and taking vengeance upon the Germans, who had annihilated the army of the Roman general Publius Quintilius Varus (died AD 9) in the Teutoburger Wald in AD 9. Accompanied by Germanicus Caesar, who was his nephew and adopted son, Tiberius made two more marches into the heart of Germany, returning to Rome several years later to be accorded a triumph, the highest official tribute that was given to honor a victorious warrior. When Augustus died at Nola, near Naples, in AD14, Tiberius, unopposed, succeeded to the throne. His reign was marked by revolts and rebellions in Pannonia, Germany, Gaul, and other parts of the empire. Domestically, the reign of Tiberius was at first beneficent. He improved the civil service, kept the army in strict discipline, and managed the finances with great ability and generosity; the provinces were better governed during his rule than ever before. Gradually, however, a change took place, and the latter part of his reign was marked by a series of conspiracies and consequent executions. In AD26 Tiberius left Rome and withdrew to Campania, and the following year went to the island of Capreae (modern Capri), leaving Rome under the power of Lucius Aelius Sejanus (died AD31), the prefect of the Praetorian Guard. Finally realizing that Sejanus was trying to seize the imperial power, Tiberius had him and his supporters put to death in AD31. The emperor continued to live at Capreae until AD37. He died on March 16, AD37, at Misenum, near Naples; some ancient historians believed he was smothered by the prefect of the Praetorian Guard. Tiberiuss coldness and reserve and his desire for economy in government rendered him unpopular with the people and, together with his supposed depravity, gave him a bad name in legend and history. Most modern scholars, however, reject the tales of his cruelty, hypocrisy, and debauchery that are related by the historians Tacitus and Suetonius. Tiberius seems to have been an able soldier and administrator who retained the republican form of government as much as possible.
